PREFACE

This is the September 2007 version, prepared by the 2006 and 2007 Executive Committee on the basis of material approved by the December 2005 Business meeting of members.

The International Agricultural Trade Research Consortium (IATRC) is a group of more than 180 people from roughly 25 countries involved in international agricultural trade research and policy analysis.

This document outlines the objectives, organization, operations and origins of the IATRC. It updates the corresponding document issued in October 1997 by incorporating decisions taken at meetings of the general membership and the Executive Committee since that time. Notably, it incorporates decisions taken as a result of the findings of the Futures Steering Group (“McCalla report”) of 2004. Separate occasional documents present recent plans for IATRC meetings, new and past IATRC publications, and budget details.
